Computer Setup & Hookup

Make sure your new computer is running great right out of the box. We will go through the steps to make sure you get the most out of your computer and that your computer is protected from day one.

Install Antivirus and Antispyware software and update both.

Enable basic security for Internet Explorer including antiphishing and pop-up blocker  
Install drivers for printers you have at home (you have to let us know the make and model of your printer)

Remove unwanted trial software and programs.  
Data Transfer from your old computer – 29.99 extra  
How long will it take? If we are doing an in-store setup it can take up to 48 hours.  But if we are hooking it up in your home it takes a bit longer.  We get it as ready as we can here in the store then deliver it and hook it up for you.  So for in-home hookup it usually takes three to four days.

Should you clean up all the trial software on a new computer? Very much so.  That trial software slows down your computer so your computer won't be running as it should be out of the box.  This will make sure you get all you can out of the computer that you paid for.

Why do I have to bring in my old computer for the data transfer when you are hooking up my new computer? Doing a data transfer can take some special equipment so we can only do this in our shop.
